Shield NEWS from Venue Meeting
A couple of issues that came out of the
venue meeting on Monday night:
-
Any Little Aths can
compete by invite & don't need to pay the $10 invite fee, but any
other person competing by invite is required to pay the invite fee.
-
Due to various
problems in holding twilight meetings, the Region intend to hold the
January meetings on a Saturday (normal start time) instead of a
Tuesday twilight. This is subject to approval from AV.

Summer 2007-2008 |

Leadership Group Announced
Your committee has decided to trial a
'leadership group' in place of Team Managers for 2007/2008. After
much discussion, four athletes were chosen that
have a commitment to athletics, who are
at training/shield competition regularly and are friendly and
approachable.
Those athletes are Jason Poon,
Will Power, Sam Carberry and Sarah Casey.
Congratulations on accepting the challenge for this season!
The role of the leadership group is to:
-
encourage athletes to get involved
in different events at Shield - try the shot put, discus or
javelin!
-
ensure relay teams are organised at
Shield competition
-
encourage athletes to attend social
events organised by the club
-
have input into the running and
direction of the club
The committee hopes that all athletes
and parents help support the leadership group in their duties.
