Playoffs week 2 – 25/03/2023
Doncaster launched a last minute bid to catch Box Hill on the second week of the playoffs, and managed to get there by 300 points, scoring more than the fifth placed Western Athletics. Campbell and Laura were the only athletes over 1000 points, though Mark Purser, Graham Ford and Kim Peak were all over 900. David Firth was injured and had to pull out of his 200, and some others were only qualified for two events.
Athletes like Darryl Kilmartin probably should not have been competing with their injuries, but still fronted up. Lydia Rinaudo was back, and breaking two records, with Kim Peak and Paul Mierisch also lowering a couple of theirs.
However, the most important thing is we convincingly avoided relegation and will be in the Premier Division next year.
