DESCRIPTION:Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coaching Course This ONE DAY course is designed to introduce coaches to the fundamental technical and strategic skills and programming for runners in training for 5km through to marathon events. The course covers training and preparing a group that has varied skill levels from Novice through to competitive club runners. Pre requisites for the course are either the Athletics Australia Level 1 Community Athletics Coach course or Cert 3 or 4 personal trainers. Those registering who are Cert 3 or 4 are required to first register with Athletics Australia as a coach at least one week prior to the course to allow for processing. Those registered with Fitness Australia will receive 7 CEC points on completion of this course There is no pre work for this event

Course Duration The Level 2 Advanced Coach course consists of a 2 day face to face component plus pre and post course assessment tasks. \nThe face to face component is split into two parts. • Part A is for all Event Groups and covers the topics of The Essence of Coaching\, Development & Maturation\, General Conditioning\, Skill Acquisition\, Inclusive Coaching\, Planning Training and Evaluating Progress \n• Part B is Event Group Specific covering the coaching and technical analysis of your chosen event group. \n• Part A must be undertaken prior to undertaking Part B Course Prerequisites Prior to the commencement of the Level 2 Advanced Coach course\, it is required that coaches: \n1. Have completed a Level 2 accreditation. This can be one of the following; Level 2 Intermediate Club Coach\, Level 2 Club Coach or Level 2 Jumps Coach (which was delivered by Athletics Australia) \n2. Have completed 50 hours or 6 months of coaching since completing Level 2 intermediate level accreditation and completed a log of the hours which needs to be submitted to Athletics Victoria – Those who have taken their Level 2 Intermediate level courses prior to the 1st July may submit the coaching history form in lieu of having a coaching log. \n3. Have completed the pre-course assessments.
