Round 6 – 3/12/2022

Summer has arrived! It certainly did at Doncaster with the temperature hovering around thirty degrees. With competition at our local track, numbers were up and we finished ahead of Box Hill, who employed their Powerplay.

There were records aplenty too. Wendy Smith and Paul Mierisch both went to Mt Evelyn and broke the 100 metres records, unfortunately disallowed because of the wind. Paul went on to break his 400 metres record and was top in the state. Colleen Kelly broke her 200 metres and 3000 metres club records, her 200 metres being faster than the W50 and W55 records! Lydia Rinaudo ran an impressive 18:04.4 to set a new record in the 5000 metres.

Campbell McLennan had a close tussle with Mark Purser in the 800 metres, and managed to break his record. With M70s finally being recognised, Graham Ford broke his hammer throw record using the lighter weight! It was good to see Jim Poulter back soaring over the pole vault.

All results and records below after a few community announcements !
