 Victorian Championships Open & Under 20 3-5/3/2023

The second weekend of championships was for the under 20 and open age groups. Doncaster didn’t have as many competing this weekend, but Commonwealth Games representative, Anthony Jordan, shone with two golds while Thomas Reynolds blitzed the field in the under 20 400 metres. One wonders how he would have fared in the open event, when only the winner ran a faster time.

Kevin Rassool was very impressive in his heat of the 200 metres, but was unable to take his place in the final, where only the winner ran a faster time.

AVSL Playoffs

This year Playoffs are over 2 weekends, Doncaster on the 18th and Aberfeldie on the 25th of March.

DAC competes in the Premiere division and we need a good turnout from our eligible athletes to avoid relegation.

Athletes should have received an information email from Athletics Victoria outlining the rules for Playoffs, but we would like to highlight the following.

 – Doncaster athletes can only compete at Doncaster on the 18th and Aberfeldie on the 25th

– Athletes may only enter 4 individual events (only 3 score) plus one relay, and are encouraged to enter as many as allowed in order to maximise points for the club

– To be eligible for playoffs you must have competed in at least 3 rounds of AVSL, and at least once in the events you choose to enter.

( You can check your Eligible events on Results Hub. Tab AVSL, Tab Eligibility)

– Athletes not showing up for entered events will result in us losing points. When you enter an event, you must commit to it.

– Controlled event sheets will be restricted to three attempts.

– Field events are open now and fill quickly, so sign up now!

With all our DAC athletes competing at the at the one venue, we are looking forward to a fun couple of days to finish the summer season.
