Victorian Relay Championships
Doncaster had a successful day at the Victorian Relay Championships on the weekend with five gold, four silver and three bronze medals. There was a real buzz at the track over the two days of competition with parents and athletes cheering all DAC teams regardless of whether they were in the mix for a medal or not.
Highlights of the event included:
- The Under 18 Women’s 4x800m team medalling for a third year in a row. A terrific result given the team of Chiara Bakker, Sanne Bakker, Rachel White and Eliza Chivers are sixteen, fifteen, fourteen and thirteen years old respectively
- Lachlan Marasco, Lachlan Reynolds, Ashton Sinn and Brodie Mierisch claiming back-to-back 4x100m gold medals after winning gold in the Under 14 4×100 at the last championships
- The inaugural 40+ and 50+ Medley teams for having a go and having fun in the first ever staging of the relay for those age groups.
- And Isabella Parrott, Tahlia Grace, Lucy Kearney and Shakira Harding reaching the Under 16 4x100m final despite being the youngest team in the race.

While our Open and 40+ teams were racing, and our juniors were taking a well-earned rest. Brodie Mierisch was in action at the AV Throwers meet at Ringwood on Sunday where he threw 37.37m in the Discus competition.
AVSL returns to Doncaster and Knox this weekend! We are still in the mix to qualify for the final at the end of March with five rounds to go.
